About this Integration

TikTok Pixel — User Guide

Connect your TikTok Pixel to track purchases from your workspace and send them to your TikTok Ads account.

What You Need

Step 1 — Create a TikTok Pixel

Skip this step if you already have a pixel.

  1. Go to business.tiktok.com
  2. Click Assets (top navigation)
  3. Click Events → Web Events
  4. Click Create Pixel
  5. Enter a pixel name (e.g. “My Workspace Pixel”)
  6. Select TikTok Pixel → Next
  7. Select Manually install pixel code → Next
  8. Click Complete Setup

Your pixel is created.

Step 2 — Get Your Pixel Code

  1. In TikTok Events Manager, click your pixel (left sidebar)
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Copy the Pixel Code — it starts with C followed by letters and numbers e.g. CXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Step 3 — Generate an Access Token

The Access Token enables Events API — server-side tracking that works even when users have ad blockers or privacy tools active.

  1. On the same Settings tab
  2. Scroll down to Events API
  3. Click Generate Access Token
  4. Copy the token — it is a long alphanumeric string

Important: Copy the token immediately. If you lose it, generate a new one from the same page.

Step 4 — Save in Taskip

  1. In Taskip, go to Settings → Integrations → TikTok Pixel
  2. Paste your Pixel Code (starts with C)
  3. Paste your Access Token
  4. Click Save

Step 5 — Test the Connection

  1. Click Test Connection
  2. You should see a green “Connected ✓” badge

If you see an error:

  • Check the Pixel Code starts with C and has no spaces
  • Check the Access Token was copied in full

Step 6 — Verify in TikTok Events Manager (Optional)

  1. Go to business.tiktok.com → Events → Web Events
  2. Click your pixel → Diagnostics tab
  3. In Taskip, click Test Connection again
  4. Within a few seconds a Purchase test event should appear in the Diagnostics panel

This confirms events are reaching TikTok correctly.

Where to See Your Data

Note: Purchase data appears in Ads Manager after 1–2 hours. Diagnostics update within seconds.

Why Server-Side Tracking Matters

Standard TikTok Pixel (browser only) is blocked by:

  • Ad blockers
  • iOS privacy restrictions (Apple ITP)
  • Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention

The Events API sends purchase events directly from your server to TikTok, bypassing all browser restrictions. This means more conversions are recorded and your TikTok ads optimise more accurately.

Disconnect TikTok Pixel

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → TikTok Pixel
  2. Clear both fields
  3. Click Save

Events will stop being sent immediately.
