Dubsado Reviews 2026: The Honest Truth About the New 3.0 Update

Dubsado upgraded from the 2.0 system to 3.0, bringing some major improvements in 2026. So, here ends the old Dubsado reviews on user interference, workflow, schedule, and more. Workflow is now known as ‘Flows’ and Schedule as ‘Event’. Besides, Dubsado has launched keyboard shortcuts, a kanban board, and a detached inbox.

Combined with feature upgrades, a new free trial policy, and the 2025 price increase, the landscape has changed. That means all previous reviews are no longer applicable for the 2026 Dubsado version 3.0.

Therefore, I am bringing you a personalized review of its latest updates and current features to see if it still holds the crown. Stay tuned and continue scrolling.

TL;DR: The Short Version

– Dubsado 3.0 adds Flow (visual automation), Kanban boards, ⌘K shortcuts, and a global timer.
– Now offers a 21-day free trial, dropping the old 3-client limit for better testing.
– Recent Dubsado reviews show that the learning curve is still steep, making it a “setup-heavy” choice for beginners.
– The $35/mo Starter plan is limited; you get no automation or scheduling, making it expensive for basic features.
– Tight user limits and additional charges for adding members make it costly to grow.
The Taskip Advantage: Offers automation and scheduling features even at the lowest tier, and better features at an affordable price.

What is Dubsado?

Dubsado is an all-in-one CRM for creatives and service-based business owners that acts as a central hub for your entire client journey. Though it handles lead capture, contracts, and invoicing, the true power of this platform lies in its visual workflow builder.

Dubsado review

Most Dubsado reviews highlight its ability to automate repetitive administrative tasks, reducing manual efforts. However, automation features are mostly limited to the premium plan.

Dubsado Core Features:

  • Invoicing
  • Contracts

Dubsado Reviews on Latest Updates: What’s New in 3.0?

If you’ve read older Dubsado reviews, you know the “clunky” reputation. The latest update, Dubsado 3.0, aims to fix that by bringing a more intuitive, unified design system. Here is what changed in 2026:

Dubsado reviews

1. The “Flows” Builder

Previously known as “workflows”, it is now known as “Flows”, which is the biggest shift in the latest update in Dubsado 3.0. This new visual workflow builder uses a node-based interface. Instead of scrolling through long text lists, you can now drag and drop actions on a map.

Consequently, you can see exactly how each trigger connects, which prevents logic errors in your client onboarding automation.

    2. Task Boards & Kanban Views

In the 3.0 update, Dubsado officially redesigned its Task Boards to provide a cleaner, highly organized layout. Previously, internal task management felt like an afterthought. Now, you can toggle between a classic table and a Kanban board to visualize your entire workflow.

Specifically, you can group your work by status, client name, or priority level. The new interface also allows you to show or hide specific project properties. Furthermore, you can filter your view to create a distraction-free workspace for your team.

      3. Messages: The Detached Inbox

The new Detached Inbox is all about multitasking. In previous versions, if you started an email, you were “stuck” on that screen.

Now, the email composer “detaches” into a floating window. As a result, you can browse a client’s past invoices or check your calendar while you are still typing your reply.

        4. AI Email Intelligence

While the composer helps you write, the AI Email Intelligence helps you read. It scans long, messy email threads and summarizes them into a few key bullet points. Thus, you can save significant time for long-term projects.

          5. The ⌘K Quick Action Launcher

The new ⌘K launcher acts as a “Universal Search” for your entire business. Press ⌘K (or click the launcher) and start any task in Dubsado! You can jump to any project, invoice, or form instantly. Specifically, it eliminates “navigational fatigue” by allowing you to bypass the sidebar and find data in seconds.

            6. One-Click Global Timer & Money-Making Mode

The new Global Timer now lives permanently in your top navigation bar. This allows you to track billable hours from anywhere in the platform without opening a specific project.

For a unique twist, you can toggle the display into “Money-Making Mode.” Instead of showing minutes, the timer displays your earnings in real-time.

              7. Scheduler Improvements (Now Called “Events”)

When a client books an appointment, they automatically receive a native calendar invite. Furthermore, this invite updates instantly if the client needs to reschedule, eliminating manual back-and-forth emails.

My Personal Reviews: Dubsado 3.0 vs. Taskip

I’ve been using Dubsado for two months side-by-side with Taskip. Here’s my user experience with you:

Setup & Ease Of Use: Found Dubsado Too Complex

Dubsado: Dubsado 3.0 is a powerhouse for those who want their tools to match their brand exactly. Its core strength is aesthetic customization, but this comes with a “complexity tax.”  Because it is a blank slate, a full setup often takes 15–20 hours of configuration. “Dubsado Specialists” still charge thousands of dollars just to handle the initial implementation for business owners.

For those who know code, you can style every pixel. However, without that technical effort, the internal dashboard can feel cluttered and overwhelming to new team members.

Taskip: Taskip is built for the agency owner who wants a professional look without the manual labor. It prioritizes User Experience (UX) and speed, making it feel more like a modern app than a complex database.

You need no technical or coding knowledge to set up Taskip. Within less than an hour, you can set up and onboard a client!

Project Management: Why Kanban Isn’t Enough

Dubsado: In 3.0, Dubsado introduced Kanban-style views, which definitely improve visual pipeline management. However, it’s important to understand what it still doesn’t offer. Dubsado is primarily a CRM and workflow automation tool, not a full project management system. It still lacks:

                    • Native Gantt charts
                    • Built-in task dependencies
                    • True milestone tracking tied to timelines

Because of this, handling complex, multi-phase projects (like website builds) often requires pairing them with tools like Asana or similar platforms.

Taskip: Taskip includes more structured project management features alongside client workflows.

                    • Besides Kanban, Taskip provides three other visual options: List, Gantt, and Calendar.
                    • Supports task dependencies, allowing tasks to be linked and organized in sequence
                    • Includes milestones to track key stages in a project

These features make it easier to understand how different parts of a project connect and progress over time.

                    Taskip visuals

                    Client Experience: Communication vs. Collaboration

Dubsado: It focuses on managing the “mess” of high-volume communication. Specifically, features like the detached email composer and AI thread summaries make it easier to read and respond to long email chains.

Taskip: It aims to “kill” the email chain entirely. Instead of summarizing messy threads, it uses a Support Ticket System to force requests into a structured format. Each ticket has a clear Status and Priority, turning vague emails into trackable, billable work.

The Verdict: Dubsado 3.0 gives you a better way to read the noise; Taskip gives you a system to prevent it.

Scaling the Team: The Seat Count Trap

Dubsado: Besides the owner of the account, Dubsado supports only three members within its plan. For the addition of extra members, you need to pay extra money.

                        Number of Users Additional Amount
                        4–10 users$25/mo
                        11–20 users$45/mo
                        21–30 users$60/mo

Taskip: It offers high user limits within its flat-rate monthly plans. This allows you to give your entire office full access without the “per-user” penalty.

                        • Startup Team ($29/mo): Includes 10 Users.
                        • Growing Agency ($59/mo): Includes 25 Users.
                        • Agency Pro ($89/mo): Includes Unlimited Users

                        Public Proposal Vs. Service Catalog

Dubsado: Dubsado utilizes Public Proposals as a high-conversion sales funnel. These act as an embeddable, all-in-one landing page where clients select packages, sign contracts, and pay invoices in a single vertical scroll. Once submitted, it automatically creates a new project and triggers “Flows” (workflows) to handle onboarding. It is designed for businesses that rely on a branded, narrative “sales pitch” to close high-ticket, custom deals.

Taskip: If you want to productize your services without the hassle of per-user penalty, the service catalog feature of Taskip is the best choice for you.  Instead of a long form, clients browse your services in an e-commerce storefront layout, allowing them to compare tiers side-by-side.

It collects the project brief via an intake form during checkout, instantly launching the project with a live progress bar and milestones. This speeds up the process and scales your delivery many times.

                          Free Trial Facilities

Dubsado: Earlier, Dubsado had a 3-client-only free plan forever. But in the latest update, Dubsado 3.0, has implemented a 21-day free trial providing access to all their premium features, which is a great update.

But the problem is, though 21-days sounds a lot, due to the steep learning curve, many clients spend their trial period just configuring their first ‘Flow.’

NB: Users migrating from the old 2.0 system can get an extended 45-day trial to explore the new interface.

Taskip: You’ll get 14days of full access to Taskip’s premium features in its free trial. When the trial ends, your account will automatically switch to our Free plan, available forever. If you’d like to unlock premium features again, you can upgrade to a paid plan anytime from your billing page. As it is easy to use, within just 14days you can enjoy the features to the fullest.

And the best part? Taskip offers you a “30-Day No-Questions-Asked Refund”– invest fearlessly!

                            Taskip 30-day refund policy

Value for Money: Features Against Price

Dubsado:  Dubsado offers only two pricing options: Starter at $35/month and Premium at $55/month.

                              dubsado pricing

To access the features that actually save you time, you must upgrade to the Premier plan ($55/mo). Investing $35/month, you won’t get Scheduling, Automated workflows, Public proposals, and Zapier integration.

Taskip: Taskip offers you four paid plans:

                              • Freelancer at $12/month
                              • Startup Team at $29/monthly
                              • Growing Agency at $59/monthly
                              • Agency Pro at $89/monthly
                              Taskip pricing

The Freelancer plan offers advanced features at only 12/month, believing in the philosophy that even a solo user needs automation and scheduling to stay competitive. For less than half the price of Dubsado’s basic plan, you will get advanced features integrated.

What the Market Says: Dubsado Reviews on G2, Capterra, & Trustpilot

                              Dubsado review Vs taskip review

To provide an objective look at Dubsado 3.0’s standing in 2026, I’ve synthesized data from over 2,000 verified reviews across G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot. In 2026, user sentiment is split between those who praise the platform’s unmatched creative control and those who feel weighed down by its legendary learning curve and the lack of a native mobile app.

The Highs (What they Love)The Lows (What they Hate)
The “Smart Files” Experience: Users rave about the 2025/2026 “Smart Files” update, which made proposals feel like interactive, high-end websites rather than static PDFs.Speed to Launch: Reviewers frequently mention that they were able to set up their entire service catalog and start taking payments in a single afternoon.
Automation Logic: Veterans love the “set it and forget it” nature of the workflows. Once the steep setup is finished, the system runs like clockwork.Unified Dashboard: Users love that they don’t have to “tab-hop” between a CRM, a Project Manager, and a Support Desk- everything is in one sidebar.
White Labeling: It remains the favorite for “vibe-heavy” creatives because it hides the Dubsado brand better than almost any other CRM.Team Scaling: The flat-rate pricing for large groups is a major highlight for agencies that felt “priced out” of Dubsado’s per-user brackets.

Review On Dubsado Pricing: Affordable or Expensive?

                              ‘Dubsado is Expensive’ – Arguments

                              • The Starter Plan Is Expensive For Its Limited Features

Many users find the $35 Starter plan expensive because it lacks the very thing people buy Dubsado for: Workflows. Paying $35/month just to send manual invoices feels steep when competitors like Taskip ($12/mo) include automation and scheduling in their base tier.

                              • The Seat Count Penalty

While your first 3 users are free, adding a 4th person jumps your price by $25/month. For a small team of five, you could easily be paying $80/month, making it one of the more expensive CRMs for growing agencies.

                              ‘Dubsado is Affordable’ – Arguments

                              • The ACH Benefit

For high-ticket service providers (like wedding photographers or consultants), Dubsado can actually be the cheapest option. Their ACH payments often carry a flat $5 fee. If you process a $5,000 invoice, you pay $5 in fees on Dubsado vs. $150 on platforms with a standard 3% fee. Thus, it can be an affordable option for such professionals.

                              Dubsado Alternatives: Competitor Analysis

Analysing Dubsado reviews and from personal experience of its performance, I have found the drawbacks and alternatives to overcome those related to affordable price and added features.

                              1. Taskip
                              2. HoneyBook
                              3. Bonsai
                              4. ClickUp
                              5. 17hats

Of all these, the top-ranking alternative is definitely Taskip. Why and How? Read the detailed blog to pick the right platform for your business: 15 Best Dubsado Alternatives.

Final Verdict: Is Dubsado Still the Best CRM in 2026?

There is no doubt about the deep automation and complex workflows that Dubsado offers, but there is still a steep learning curve and complexity in setup. Moreover, the starting price is too high compared to the feature it brings- no automation, no scheduling. So, it’s no longer the best choice as alternatives are providing you with better features at a lot more affordable prices.

However, when it comes to alternatives, Taskip is definitely the best choice. It comes with four paid plans along with a free forever plan. And the best part is, even if you are a freelancer and want to go solo, the starting tier offers you all automated features at just 12/month! Therefore, why wait any longer? Check Taskip features and pricing, and get your plan now!

                              FAQs On Dubsado Review

                              Is Dubsado worth it?

If you are a service-based business (photographer, coach, designer) with a consistent client process and want to deliver a “white-labeled” experience that runs on autopilot, Dubsado is worth it. However, if you want a hassle-free setup, Dubsado might not be the best choice as it has a steep learning curve. Besides, automation features come at the premium plan only, which makes it too expensive.

                              Who is Dubsado best for?

Dubsado is built for creative solopreneurs and boutique agencies (photographers, designers, event planners) who have a complex, repeatable client journey. It’s for those who want their business to look like a high-end agency while running on total autopilot.

Can I use Dubsado for free?

Dubsado offers a 21-day free trial with full access to all “Premier” features (including the new Flows). However, if you are migrating from the old 2.0 system, a 45-day extended free trial is offered to explore the new interface.

                              What is better than Dubsado?

The better alternative to Dubsado depends on your needs and service type. For example, for teams and productized services, Taskip is the best alternative. Besides, if you prefer ease of use and a seamless mobile app, HoneyBook is a good choice. And for heavy project management, Plutio is good.

                              Is Dubsado hard to learn?

Yes, it is widely recognized for having a steep learning curve. While the new Dubsado 3.0 “Flows” update has made the interface more visual and faster, the “blank canvas” nature of the platform means you have to build every automation, form, and contract from scratch.

                              Is Dubsado a CRM tool?

Yes, Dubsado is a CRM tool that allows freelancers and businesses to create invoices, quotations, and schedules, and automate workflow. This allows you to handle and manage clients seamlessly.

What is the free alternative to Dubsado?

Dubsado alternatives like Taskip and Bitrix24 have a free plan, but they can’t be compared to the paid plan of Dubsado to present as a free alternative. However, the paid plans of Taskip are a good alternative to Dubsado.

How much is Dubsado per year?

If you are on the Starter plan, it costs $335/year, and for the Premium plan, the annual price is $525. However, there can be an extra cost if you are adding more than three users.
