Connect your Google Analytics 4 property to track purchases and user activity on your workspace.


What You Need

  • A Google account
  • 5 minutes

Step 1 — Create a GA4 Property

Skip this step if you already have a GA4 property.

  1. Go to analytics.google.com
  2. Click Admin (gear icon, bottom left)
  3. Click + Create → Property
  4. Enter a name (e.g. “My Workspace”)
  5. Select your timezone and currency → Next
  6. Choose your business details → Next → Create
  7. Select Web as your platform
  8. Enter your workspace URL (e.g. https://app.taskip.net/your-slug)
  9. Click Create stream

Step 2 — Get Your Measurement ID

  1. In GA4, go to Admin → Data Streams
  2. Click on your web stream
  3. Copy the Measurement ID — it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX

Step 3 — Create an API Secret

  1. On the same Data Stream page
  2. Scroll down to Measurement Protocol API secrets
  3. Click Create
  4. Enter any nickname (e.g. “Taskip”)
  5. Click Create
  6. Copy the generated secret string

Step 4 — Save in Taskip

  1. In Taskip, go to Settings → Integrations → Google Analytics 4
  2. Paste your Measurement ID (e.g. G-XXXXXXXXXX)
  3. Paste your API Secret
  4. Click Save

Step 5 — Test the Connection

  1. Click Test Connection
  2. You should see a green “Connected ✓” badge
  3. If you see an error — double-check both values were copied correctly with no extra spaces

Step 6 — Verify in GA4 (Optional)

  1. Go to analytics.google.com
  2. Select your property
  3. Click Configure → DebugView (left sidebar)
  4. Click Test Connection in Taskip again
  5. Within a few seconds you will see a page_view event appear in DebugView

This confirms events are reaching your GA4 property correctly.


What Gets Tracked Automatically

Once connected, the following is tracked without any extra setup:

Where to See Your Data

Note: GA4 reports take 24–48 hours to fully populate. Realtime and DebugView update within seconds.


Disconnect GA4

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Analytics 4
  2. Clear both fields
  3. Click Save

Events will stop being sent immediately.
