Taskip + Zapier
Zapier
Zapier is an automation platform that connects thousands of apps. The Taskip–Zapier integration lets you build automated workflows ("Zaps") that trigger actions in other apps when something happens in Taskip — and vice versa.
About this Integration
What Is This Integration?
Zapier is an automation platform that connects thousands of apps. The Taskip–Zapier integration lets you build automated workflows (“Zaps”) that trigger actions in other apps when something happens in Taskip — and vice versa.
Examples of what you can automate:
- When a new Taskip contact is created → add a row in Google Sheets
- When a Taskip task is completed → send a Slack message to your team
- When a new lead arrives in Taskip → create a deal in your CRM
- When a form is submitted in Typeform → create a contact in Taskip
- When a Taskip invoice is sent → log it in QuickBooks or FreshBooks
No code required. Once connected, Zapier handles everything in the background.
Before You Start
You will need:
- An active Zapier account (free or paid — zapier.com)
- Administrator or Manager role in Taskip (other roles cannot access integrations)
- Your Taskip workspace already set up with at least one module you want to automate
Step 1 — Get Your Taskip API Credentials
In Taskip, go to: Settings → Integrations → Zapier
A dialog opens with two fields:
Domain
This is your workspace identifier — the unique address Zapier uses to find your Taskip account.
It looks like:
https://your-workspace-name
Click the copy icon on the right side of the field to copy it.
API Key
This is your secret key that authenticates requests from Zapier to Taskip.
The key is displayed in the input field in monospace format. Click the copy icon to copy it.
Keep this key private. Anyone who has it can access your Taskip workspace through Zapier. Do not share it in Slack, email, or public repositories.
If your key has been exposed or you want to rotate it, click Regenerate (see Regenerating Your API Key below).
Step 2 — Connect Taskip in Zapier
- Log in to your Zapier account at zapier.com.
- Click Create Zap (or open an existing Zap you want to connect to Taskip).
- In the app search field, type Taskip and select it.
- When prompted to connect an account, click Connect a new account.
- Zapier will ask for:
- Domain — paste the domain you copied from Taskip (e.g.
https://your-workspace-name) - API Key — paste the secret key you copied from Taskip
- Domain — paste the domain you copied from Taskip (e.g.
- Click Yes, Continue to authorise the connection.
- Zapier will verify the credentials and show a green “Connected” confirmation.
You only need to do this once. The connection is saved and reused across all your Zaps.
Step 3 — Build Your First Zap
A Zap has two parts:
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Trigger | The event that starts the automation (e.g. “new contact in Taskip”) |
| Action | What happens next in another app (e.g. “send Slack message”) |
Setting Up a Trigger (Taskip as the source)
- In your Zap, click Trigger and search for Taskip.
- Choose a trigger event (e.g. “New Contact”, “New Task”, “New Lead”).
- Select the Taskip account you connected in Step 2.
- Click Test Trigger — Zapier will fetch a recent sample record from your Taskip workspace to confirm the connection works.
- Continue to set up the Action in whatever destination app you want.
Setting Up an Action (Taskip as the destination)
- In your Zap, set up a trigger in the source app first.
- Click Action and search for Taskip.
- Choose an action event (e.g. “Create Contact”, “Create Task”).
- Select your Taskip account.
- Fill in the required fields, mapping data from the trigger.
- Click Test Action to confirm the record is created correctly in Taskip.
- Turn on the Zap.
Common Use Cases
Taskip as Trigger → Other Apps
| Taskip event | Example action |
|---|---|
| New Contact created | Add row to Google Sheets, create card in Trello |
| New Task created | Post message in Slack, create item in Notion |
| New Lead created | Create contact in HubSpot, send email via Gmail |
| Task status changed | Notify team in Microsoft Teams |
| New Invoice sent | Log entry in QuickBooks, update Airtable record |
Other Apps as Trigger → Taskip as Action
| Source event | Taskip action |
|---|---|
| New Typeform / Tally form submission | Create Contact or Lead |
| New row added in Google Sheets | Create Task |
| Email received in Gmail matching a filter | Create Support Ticket |
| New Stripe payment received | Create Invoice record |
| New Calendly meeting booked | Create Contact |
Regenerating Your API Key
If your API key has been compromised or you want to rotate credentials:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier.
- Click the Regenerate button (the circular arrow icon next to the API Key label).
- A new key is generated immediately. The old key stops working at once.
Important: After regenerating, you must update the key in every Zap that uses Taskip. In Zapier, go to each affected Zap → edit the Taskip connection → re-enter the new API key. Zaps using the old key will start failing until updated.
Security Notes
- Your API key is shown once and stored securely on Taskip’s servers — it is not visible to other team members.
- Regenerating the key immediately invalidates the previous key — no grace period.
- Zapier stores your credentials encrypted in their vault; Taskip does not have access to your Zapier account.
- Treat your API key like a password: never commit it to source control or share it in plain text.
